Learn About the Area

We live in a beautiful part of the world. If you were to look at the State of New Hampshire and go halfway up the border with Maine you will find Conway, New Hampshire on one side and Fryeburg, Maine on the other. Now draw a 60 mile circle around it and this is where we live, work and play.

When folks are looking for property in the area they are usually focused on the following towns:

Bartlett, NH: Bartlett is home to Attitash Ski Area  and Storyland, and is one of the most desirable towns to own a vacation home due to its proximity to downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, sight seeing, attractions and the fact that it has one of the lowest property taxes in the State. It sits just north of North Conway Village and has some of the most popular condo developments in the region including Mountainside on Attitash, the luxury homes trailside development called Bearfoot Creek, Nordic Village, River Run, Seasons at Attitash, Eagle Ridge and many more. Bretton Woods Ski Area, the largest in New Hampshire with incredible views, is 30 minutes away as is the Cog Railway up Mount Washington and the famous Omni Mount Washington Hotel. For vacation home owners and rental property investors, this community consistently ranks at the top.

Conway, NH The Town of Conway is actually made up of several formal and informal Villages: Conway, Center Conway, East Conway, Intervale, Kearsarge, North Conway, Redstone and South Conway. North Conway is so big and so well known that it is viewed by out-of-state residents as a stand alone entity. Rarely does anyone ask me for a property in Conway although many Buyers end up purchasing there when they get to know the area. Folks who want to be near the heart of the action are looking to be in North Conway Village or nearby.

Fryeburg, Maine. Just over the border you find a town that has kept much of its rural character. It has beautiful farmland, one of the most popular beaches on the Saco River, and is home to the second largest fair in New England, the Fryeburg Fair. It is also one of the few communities in the region that has its elementary, middle school and high school within a 1 mile radius. The Fryeburg Academy, founded in 1792 is an independent, private school with a beautiful campus setting that pulls the local kids in Fryeburg and the surrounding communities in Maine, tuition free. Local kids who attend the Academy take classes with students from around the world who stay in on campus dorms. The Oxford House Inn in the center of town was voted the top restaurant in New England by Open Table and the best in town Inn by Yankee Magazine. The downtown area includes a coffeeshop, hair salon, health care providers, an organic market and several other dining establishments and taverns. Weston's and Sherman Farms are both in walking distance from the center of town and feature fresh produce and farm stores popular with locals and tourists alike. The Mountain Division Trail is a 4 mile popular biking and walking trail that is envisioned to one day extend over 50 miles from Fryeburg to Portland, Maine. Jockey Cap is a great, short and easy hike suitable for pets and has a wonderful 360 degree view of the area.

Hale's Location, NH. Hale's Location is a luxury golf community located at the base of the 800 foot White Horse Ledge, one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in the area. It is one of several unincorporated townships in New Hampshire and the luxury homes there bear the distinction of being in the lowest tax community in one of the lowest tax states in the nation. Homeowners at Hale's enjoy membership at the onsite Hale's Location Golf Course, a professional length 9 hole course called "one of the most singularly beautiful golf developments in the country," by Golf Magazine. The development is anchored by an upscale full service hotel called the White Mountain Hotel & Resort that includes an award winning restaurant, Ledges, a Tavern, and a fitness center, outdoor pool and Jacuzzi that homeowners can use for a small yearly fee. The development is only 2.5 miles from the center of North Conway Village.
